Morris Chestnut, the actor whose career spans over three decades, must have attended the Golden Globes before.
Well, last night, Chestnut shared on social media that this was his first time attending the prestigious award ceremony.
Chestnut, who attended the Golden Globes with his wife of nearly 30 years, Pam Chestnut, not only graced the event but also presented the award for Best Screenplay – Motion Picture during the ceremony.
The Golden Globes is presented annually by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and recognizes outstanding achievements in both domestic and international productions across a variety of categories, including acting, directing, and writing. It also serves as a key precursor to the Academy Awards, often setting the tone for award season.
It’s wild that Chesnut has never attended the Golden Globes.
He first gained widespread attention with his breakout role as Ricky Baker in John Singleton’s Boyz n the Hood (1991), After that he starred in iconic roles including Lance Sullivan in The Best Man franchise, which ended with the recent Peacock series The Best Man: The Final Chapters.
His other notable films include The Brothers (2001), Two Can Play That Game (2001) The Perfect Holiday (2007), and When the Bough Breaks (2016).
On television, Chestnut has starred in a range of shows, from the critically acclaimed Rosewood (2015-2017), where he was the leading man, to his recent appearance in Hulu’s Reasonable Doubt. He also starred in V (2009-2011), The Resident (2019-2021), and All American (2022-2023).
On January 26, Chestnut will star in CBS’s latest project, Watson, a reimagining of the Sherlock Holmes universe. He takes on the role of Dr. John Watson, who tackles medical mysteries while coping with the loss of his partner, Sherlock Holmes.
We’re thrilled to see Morris Chestnut at the Golden Globes and hope he continues attending—and someday brings home his own trophy.
