Colman Domingo has been working tirelessly, and he shows no signs of slowing down.
He recently starred in Rustin, portraying Bayard Rustin, the iconic civil rights activist and advisor to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Domingo also starred in Sing Sing, a story set inside a maximum-security prison, which was released in theaters this past summer.
Looking forward, Domingo has a packed slate, including his role in Michael, the Michael Jackson biopic directed by Antoine Fuqua, as well as voicing Norman Osborn in Marvel’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man animated series. His future work also includes an untitled Steven Spielberg film and his upcoming directorial and writing project, a biopic about Nat King Cole.
With each new project, Domingo continues to prove himself as one of Hollywood’s most versatile and accomplished actors. But could he be stepping into the MCU?
The talented actor recently confirmed that he has met with Marvel Studios. Although no specifics were revealed during the conversation, Domingo shared with Screen Geek that Marvel expressed genuine interest in working with him.
“I have had a meeting with Marvel, yes. But it wasn’t specifically about anything. They literally sat down and said, ‘What do you want to do?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know. What do you got for me?'”
Marvel is known for its expansive universe and ability to offer roles that allow actors to showcase their range. A role in their cinematic world is undoubtedly a dream for many in Hollywood.
Domingo echoed this sentiment, explaining that while he had no specific role in mind, he is open to any opportunity that would allow him to “give something of myself” to the character.
“Who would not want to be a part of the MCU?” he said. “I just wouldn’t want it to be right. And something that is created for me and something where I feel like I can give something of myself to.”
