An evening of adoration, great entertainment, and lots of laughs. The One Mike Detroit grand opening gala was the place to be as comedic legend Mike Epps recently celebrated the official opening of his entertainment complex showroom in the heart of Downtown Detroit, MI.
The always charismatic and undeniably funny Epps beamed as he thanked those who have supported his newest entrepreneurial endeavor.
“Your blessings come through people,” said the next Friday star, to the packed house. “And that’s God’s blessings that come through people. He works through people and he makes things happen.”
The red 12,000 square feet showroom seats 400 plus guests and showcases movie posters and
quotes from Epps’ most notorious movies.
The Harlem Nights-themed event featured comedic performances of Epps, Henry Welch, and Dominique Witten, alongside a special 60-minute concert by Grammy award-winning legends, The Whispers. The evening also featured local comedians J Will and CoCo, adding a touch of Detroit flavor to the festivity.
“We are excited to showcase some of the amazing talent that Detroit has to offer,” says
Kimberly Moore, CEO and co-owner of One Mike Detroit. “One Mike Detroit is not only bringing
entertainment to the city but also providing opportunities for local artists to shine. We’re here to make a difference and contribute positively to the city’s economic development.”
With a career that has spanned over three decades, Epps has continued to create his own lane. From standup comedy specials on Netflix as well as the hit show The Upshaws, which will return for another season this Spring. Recently the Def Comedy alum garnered praise for renovating homes on the block he grew up in Indianapolis.
