Warner Music Group's Chris Atlas Talks About the Impact of Social Media and Building Relationships

To continue our Black Music Month series, in partnership with Warner Music Group, we spoke with the EVP of Urban Music and Marketing Chris Atlas.

Chris joined Warner Music in 2017 but his career in the music industry started years before that. He began his career at Tommy Boy Records where he ultimately served as A&R and General Manager of Urban Music Production. He moved on to be VP of Urban Music Promotion and Marketing at Cornerstone Agency and then landed at Def Jam Recordings as EVP of Marketing before his current role at Warner Music.

Chris was responsible for creating and executing some of the marketing strategies and promotions for artists like Kanye West, Ludacris and Rick Ross to name a few. He also has forged relationships and brand partnerships with Sprite, Reebok and more.

Our Editor-in-Chief Eric K. Thomas spoke with Chris about the future of music, the impact social media has on his day-to-day operations and how to build better relationships.
