Marlon Wayans Signs Overall Deal With HBO MAX

The youngest Wayans sibling has struck gold with his latest deal with HBO Max. The WarnerMedia streaming service has already set a number of projects with the actor and comedic legend, including Book of Marlon, where he plays a fictional version of himself where he attempts to reconcile being a good person and father. Wayans co-created the show with his long time producing partner Rick Alverez.

The pilot is already written and Wayans will star in the first scripted project identified by the digital platform as part of his first-look deal for scripted and unscripted content. After his recent special Woke-ish, Marlon will also return to the stand-up comedy scene with his own special as well as the host for another untitled multi-act special.

“I’m excited to be in business with HBO Max. Rick and I have had a lot of success in the streaming space and are excited to work with a company that is equally excited to work with us,” said Wayans. “We look forward to helping both brands grow rapidly and internationally. HBO Max is a great place to continue our mission of putting smiles on people’s faces.”

“Marlon is a triple threat with an impressive resume that speaks to his acting talent and comedy prowess,” said Suzanna Makkos, executive vice president of original comedy and animation for HBO Max. “We are thrilled to have his unique voice and comedic vision join our growing family of creators.”

After over 20 years producing under his Ugly Baby Productions, which includes titles such as Naked, Sextuplets, Little Man, and White Chicks, hard work has paid off for the Wayans brother that we have come to love since the 90s. The Wayans’ dynasty continues.
