Credit One Bank has announced the Credit Tip Off Tour, a free college campus initiative hosted by Shaquille O’Neal in his new role as “Credit Professor.” The tour brings real credit education and a live DJ Diesel set to students across four campuses this fall, kicking off September 14 at Southern Methodist University and running through November 9 at Florida Atlantic University.

The concept is straightforward: schools rarely teach credit education, and the consequences of not knowing the basics can follow young people for years. Missing a payment, maxing out a card, closing old accounts, these are the kinds of mistakes that are easy to make and hard to undo. The Credit Tip Off Tour is designed to address exactly that, meeting students where they are with free Real Credit Chats featuring O’Neal and Credit One Bank CMO Michael Coleman, backed by interactive games, activities, and prizes.

O’Neal has been open about making his own credit mistakes early in his career, and despite the wealth and success that followed, he understands that access to credit knowledge isn’t a given for everyone. “I learned credit the hard way,” he said in a statement. “Nobody broke it down for me back then. Now I’ve got kids in college, kids right out of it, and I want them starting smarter than I did. That’s what the Credit One Bank Credit Tip Off Tour is about. And yeah, we’re still going to have fun.”

Each stop will feature a Real Credit Chat moderated by a different host. Sports creator and content host Jenna Bandy moderates at SMU. James Dumoulin, co-founder of The School of Hard Knocks, handles Georgia State University and the Baton Rouge stop at Fred’s Bar. Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia closes out the tour at Florida Atlantic University. Each moderator brings a different lens to the conversation, sports, entrepreneurship, and independent media, making the credit discussion feel less like a lecture and more like a real conversation.

The Credit One Bank Credit Tip Off Tour also introduces the Credit Wreckers, a cast of characters designed to make common credit mistakes memorable and approachable. Miss Payment, Max Out, Cancelina, and One Track Jack each represent a different behavior to avoid, bringing topics like on-time payments, credit utilization, credit history, and credit mix to life without the intimidation that financial education often carries.
