Fresh off his highly celebrated Best Actor Oscar win for his intense dual-role performance in Sinners, Michael B. Jordan is trading dark drama for an animated comedy. Netflix has officially released the first trailer for Swapped, a new 3D animated feature from Skydance Animation.

The new trailer even proudly flaunts his newly minted status, flashing an “Academy Award Winner” title card right before introducing his character. To make the drop even more special, Jordan enlisted the help of his adorable real-life niece and nephew to present the upcoming family film.

In a video shared by Netflix, the trio is seen sitting on the grass together to present the clip. Jordan’s nephew enthusiastically kicks things off by saying, “Hi! This is my uncle Mike,” before Jordan chimes in to announce, “We’re gonna watch the trailer for my new movie, Swapped, only on Netflix”. His niece sweetly wraps up the intro by adding, “Hope you like it!”

Directed by Nathan Greno, the filmmaker behind Disney’s Tangled, Swapped is a buddy comedy that turns the natural animal kingdom upside down.

Jordan voices Ollie, a small woodland creature caught in a long-standing rivalry with the majestic birds that share his valley. Juno Temple co-stars as the voice of Ivy, one of the valley’s birds and Ollie’s sworn enemy. When a mysterious magical event, sparked by a purple spore, causes Ollie and Ivy to suddenly switch bodies, the two are forced to team up.

They must learn to literally walk in each other’s fur and feathers to survive a chaotic, wild adventure and find a way to reverse the mishap.

Alongside Jordan and Temple, the film features a hilarious, star-studded voice cast that includes Tracy Morgan, Cedric the Entertainer, Justina Machado, Ambika Mod, and Lolly Adefope.

Swapped officially premieres on Netflix on May 1, 2026. Check out the trailer below.
