The internet may love a good fan-casting, but Damson Idris is staying cool under the Wakandan pressure. While walking the red carpet at the 2026 Golden Globes, the Snowfall responded to the swirling rumors that he’s being eyed for a role in Black Panther 3, possibly even the mantle itself.

Speaking with Variety, Idris was gracious, grounded, and clearly flattered by the fan support.

“I’m thankful to the fans. Of course, there’s rumors, but I love the movie. I love that world,” Idris said. “I’m glad that everyone’s seeing the future of that, too, because it’s moving in a brilliant direction. And I’m excited for the third one.”

The reporter playfully pressed further, asking if he had any ideas to pitch director Ryan Coogler, even if he wasn’t in the film. Idris laughed it off, saying, “Just make sure it’s amazing — but I know he’ll do that.”

This isn’t the first time Idris has found himself the subject of fantasy casting. From whispers of being the next James Bond to stepping into a Marvel franchise, the British-Nigerian actor has long been considered a breakout talent capable of leading major global projects.

While Marvel has remained tight-lipped about the future of the Black Panther franchise, fans have been speculating about how the story will evolve following the death of Chadwick Boseman, the rise of Shuri (Letitia Wright), and the expanding Wakandan universe.

Idris would undoubtedly be a strong fit for the MCU, whether as a hero, an antihero, or something entirely new. But for now, he’s focused on enjoying the ride. But if we know anything about Marvel casting, you can’t believe anything these potential stars say.
