Apple TV drops the first trailer for Hijack Season 2, with Idris Elba returning as Sam Nelson in a tense new crisis on the Berlin Underground.
Hijack - Idris Elba

Apple TV just released the first trailer for Season 2 of Hijack, and this time, Idris Elba’s Sam Nelson is swapping the altitude of a commercial jet for the tight, shadowy corridors of the Berlin Underground.

The negotiator who kept his cool at 30,000 feet is now facing an entirely new type of confined chaos.

Season 1 introduced viewers to Nelson, a cool-headed corporate negotiator who found himself trying to talk his way through a mid-flight hijacking from Dubai to London. The tense, real-time thriller became one of Apple TV’s most-watched dramas and earned Elba an Emmy nomination.

Season 2 builds on that tension, taking Nelson from the skies to the rails as a train car is seized by masked intruders deep beneath Berlin.

The newly released trailer wastes no time shifting into panic mode. Commuters scream. Armed attackers lock down the car. And Sam Nelson, reluctant hero, crisis whisperer, steps forward yet again to do what he does best.

The subway setting adds a fresh layer of pressure: no exit doors, no flight crew, no horizon. Every stop becomes a potential flashpoint.

Above ground, authorities frantically try to decode what’s happening below the city. Their strategies may not align with Nelson’s instincts, setting up a familiar tension: Sam sees the danger up close, while law enforcement sees only fragments of a rapidly escalating situation.

Christine Adams, Max Beesley, and Archie Panjabi return to the franchise, once again pulled into Nelson’s orbit as the crisis unfolds.

New cast members joining the season include Christian Näthe, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Lisa Vicari, Toby Jones, Karima McAdams, and Christiane Paul.

Apple TV released the trailer with the line: “The crises are different, but Sam Nelson will always be Sam Nelson.”

Hijack Season 2 premieres January 14, 2026, with eight episodes releasing weekly through the March 4 finale.
