STARZ is officially expanding the Power Universe once again, and this time, it’s going back to where the story truly began.

The network has confirmed that filming is underway for Power: Origins, the highly anticipated prequel that follows Ghost, Tommy, and Kanan in their formative years as young hustlers navigating the streets of New York City.

Production for the 18-episode first season has kicked off in New Jersey.

The series introduces a fresh cast stepping into the iconic shoes of the characters fans have followed for over a decade, with Spence Moore starring as a young James “Ghost” St. Patrick, Charlie Mann taking on the role of a young Tommy Egan, and MeKai Curtis returning as teenage Kanan Stark after leading Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

By revisiting their early lives, Power: Origins dives deep into the relationships, conflicts, and defining decisions that shaped the men they ultimately became.

The series has also lined up a strong supporting cast, including Jennifer Ferrin as Kate Egan, Tommy’s complicated and deeply flawed mother; Lizzy DeClement as Jill Wexler, a sharp Queens nurse whose relationship with Tommy pulls her into a dangerous world; and Lenny Platt as Lenny Seidell, a fitness entrepreneur whose steroid-fueled business quickly entangles him with Ghost and Tommy.

Supporting players bringing depth to the gritty streets include Armani Gabriel as J Boogs, one of Ghost and Tommy’s most trusted corner boys; Everett Osborne as Omay Moreau, an NFL star whose life intersects with the rising hustlers; and Jason Dirden, reprising his role as Traymont Stinson from Raising Kanan.

Power: Origins marks the fourth spinoff in the franchise, following Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force, further expanding the ever-growing Power Universe.

More updates and first-look images are expected as production continues.
