Idris Elba is back, and once again, travel is not going his way.
Apple TV+ has officially announced that its hit thriller series Hijack will return for Season 2 on January 14, premiering with two episodes before airing weekly and concluding on February 25.
After surviving a tense, real-time hijacking in the skies during Season 1, Elba’s character Sam Nelson, the calm, calculating corporate negotiator who became everyone’s favorite accidental hero, now finds himself aboard a hijacked commuter train in Berlin.
According to Apple TV’s official logline, “a Berlin underground train and its commuters are taken hostage, while authorities scramble to save hundreds of lives. Sam Nelson is at the heart of the crisis on board, where one wrong decision could spell disaster.”
The new teaser offers a first look at the escalating tension, featuring Sam stepping onto the train as a chilling German announcement echoes overhead, and a ticking time bomb clings to the undercarriage.
The first season, which unfolded in real time aboard a London-bound flight, earned Elba an Emmy nomination for Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
The upcoming eight-episode season will see the return of Christine Adams, Max Beesley, and Archie Panjabi, alongside new cast members including Toby Jones (Detectorists).
