Atlanta was the place to be last night as Netflix hosted a special screening of Ruth & Boaz at Regal Atlantic Station, celebrating the reimagined love story with a star-studded guest list and post-screening conversation.
Following the film, Grammy-winning artist and entrepreneur Kandi Burruss moderated a Q&A with producer DeVon Franklin and the film’s stars Serayah and Tyler Lepley, who were joined by members of the supporting cast, including Jermaine Dupri, Lecrae, Nijah Brenea, Walnette Santiago, James Thomas Lee, and Gabby Jackson.
Familiar faces in the crowd included Da Brat & Judy, Blue Kimble, Quad Webb, Terrell Carter, Joey Bada$$, Terri J. Vaughn, Taylor Polidore, Montell Jordan, Eva Marcille, and more.

Directed by Alanna Brown and written by Michael Elliot and Cory Tynan, Ruth & Boaz comes from producers Franklin and Tyler Perry. The film reimagines the timeless biblical tale for modern audiences, grounding it in themes of love, healing, and redemption.
Serayah as Ruth Moably, an Atlanta hip-hop artist who turns her back on fame after personal tragedy, chooses instead to care for her late boyfriend’s mother (played by the legendary Phylicia Rashad) in rural Tennessee. Along the way, she finds herself drawn into an unexpected romance with Boaz (Lepley), a vineyard owner whose steady presence helps her rediscover purpose.
The film also features an original song written by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and performed by Serayah.
