When Severance star Tramell Tillman found out about his first Emmy nomination, he called his mom to ask her to attend the awards show with him.

And yes, she answered in true mom fashion: pure joy, pride, and a few happy tears.

Tillman, who plays the enigmatic and quietly intense Mr. Milchick on the hit Apple TV+ series, shared the emotional moment on Instagram. In the video, he calls his mom after learning he was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. Her reaction? Absolutely priceless.

“Oh my God! You’re gonna make me cry!” she exclaims, before he replies, “Mom, don’t cry—you’re gonna make me cry.”

Once the tears settle, Tillman sweetly invites her to be his guest at the Emmys this September. “Of course, I’d be honored,” she says. “I know it’s in September, so I’ve got some time to get myself together.”

“I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you,” he tells her. “You told me to do this—you pushed me. Like, literally pushed me on stage,” Tillman said.

Tillman’s nomination is part of Severance’s Emmy sweep, 27 nominations in total, making it the most-nominated show of the year. He’s up against two of his co-stars, John Turturro and Zach Cherry, in what’s sure to be a competitive category.

If Tillman takes home the trophy, he’d make history as the first Black actor to win in the Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category.

Congratulations, Tramell!
