Jalen Hurts is known for his powerful arm, calm under pressure, and leadership on the field, but now, the Super Bowl MVP is scoring big off the gridiron too. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback just announced he’s adding author to his already impressive resume.

Set to release on March 10, 2026, Hurts’ debut children’s book, Better Than a Touchdown, is already available for preorder and is shaping up to be an inspiring must-read for young fans.

The book, beautifully illustrated by Nneka Myers, tells the story of a boy named—what else?—Jalen, who’s pumped for the school year because he finally gets the chance to try out for the football team. But when the team gets cut, Jalen and his friends have to pivot and rally together to find a new purpose.

According to the official book description, Better Than a Touchdown is “a love letter to the power of community, being there for one another, and how a piece of good advice can change the course of a day.” It’s all about resilience, teamwork, and the reminder that success is bigger than any scoreboard.

Jalen took to Instagram to share the news straight from his hometown of Houston:

“It’s always been a dream of mine to have my own children’s book, and I’m blessed to say that that dream is now becoming a reality,” he said in a heartfelt video filmed at Tice Elementary, where it all began for him. “It’s very heartfelt because without the lessons learned, I wouldn’t be where I am today. And so I’m excited to extend those lessons to the next generation.”

This new move isn’t just a cute side hustle; it’s another example of how Hurts continues to use his platform with purpose.

Whether he’s leading a locker room, securing brand deals, or showing up for kids in his community, Hurts is all about impact. And with this book, he wants to uplift the next generation with the same guidance that helped shape him.
