Peacock has announced that Bel-Air, the dramatic reimagining of the iconic Will Smith sitcom, is set to return for its third season on Thursday, August 15. The series will premiere with three episodes and then go back to its tradition of a weekly release format, for a total of ten new episodes.

The new season picks up following the intense and dramatic close of Will (played by Jabari Banks) and Carlton’s (Olly Sholotan) junior year of high school. With the arrival of summer, the stakes are higher, and the drama more intense. Peacock released new images today, giving fans a glimpse of the summer fun and the deeper challenges that await the characters.

This season will be more colorful and immersive, reflecting the heightened emotions and vibrant summer atmosphere of Los Angeles. “The colors are more vibrant, the sound is elevated, the cinematography is more immersive. The vibe really sets the tone for Will’s first Bel-Air summer: Three months to shine, explore, and make moves under the LA sun,” said Morgan Cooper, the show’s executive producer and director.

Coco Jones as Hilary Banks, Akira Akbar as Ashley Banks, Adrian Holmes as Phillip Banks, Cassandra Freeman as Vivian Banks, Jimmy Akingbola as Geoffrey, and Simone Joy as Lisa Wilkes will all be coming back.

Returning cast members also include Jordan L. Jones as Jazz and Karrueche Tran as Ivy, along with Joivan Wade as Frederick. Season 3 also welcomes new talents Vic Mensa as Quentin and Alycia Pascual-Peña as Amira, adding fresh dynamics to the storyline. Carla Banks Waddles continued as showrunner and writer.

We look forward to seeing what the summer looks like for the Banks family and friends. Make sure to tune into Bel-Air on Thursday, August 15 on Peacock.
