J.R. Smith, Cavs reach contract agreement

J.R. Smith’s standoff with the Cleveland Cavaliers paid off big time. According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Cavs and Smith have reached a four-year $57 million deal.

This comes just two weeks after teammate, LeBron James slammed the Cavs organization for not reaching an agreement with Smith.

The shooting guard was an integral part of Cleveland’s championship run last season. He averaged 11.5 points per game, while hitting over 40 percent from beyond the arc during the post season.

Smith turned down a previous offer from the Cavs that would’ve given him between $10 million and $11 million annually.
