Cam Leads Panthers against Mediocre Bronco Team

The wait is finally over!

The 2016 NFL season begins tonight, as the Super Bowl Champion Denver Broncos host Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers.

The season kicks off with the much anticipated rematch of last year’s Super Bowl. While the Carolina Panthers come into the game as the favorites to win with a large chip on their collective shoulders, Broncos safety T.J. Ward had some thoughts of his own:

“It doesn’t matter to us. You could have a Dorito on your shoulder for all we care, but you still have to come in here and beat us.”

The Broncos enter the game with Trevor Siemian at quarterback. This will be Siemian’s first start of his career, with no small task of defending the Lombardi Trophy. He will look to veteran wideouts Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas in the passing game. Although they lost a few key pieces to free agency this off-season, including Defensive End Malik Jackson and Linebacker Danny Trevathan, their defense still should remain stout, led by Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller.

Meanwhile, the Panthers will be looking to 5-year veteran and league MVP Cam Newton to lead their charge in Denver.

He will have Kelvin Benjamin back from an ACL tear, as well as Greg Olson and much of the same offensive weapons from last season. Though the Panthers lost Josh Norman to free agency, much of their defense stayed the same. Luke Kuechly still spearheads their strong front-7. Additionally, they added offensive tackle Michael Oher and cornerback Brandon Boykin during free agency.

Win or lose for either team, we look forward to the game, at 8:30 pm on Thursday, September 8th.
