Browns put RGIII on IR after Suffering Major Shoulder Inury

The Cleveland Browns may be without their starting quarterback for the rest of the season.

According to the captain of information himself, Adam Schefter reports that Cleveland Browns quarterback Robert Griffin III has a fractured coracoid bone in his left shoulder, and he will be re-evaluated in 3-4 weeks. Updated reports have said the Browns have now placed RGIII on injured reserve.

What’s more, according to Schefter, he may be out for the season.

In a press conference, Griffin answered the phone, saying it was his mother and that “she’s very worried about me.”

Browns head coach Hue Jackson said the following in a statement:

“It’s very unfortunate, Robert came in and has worked extremely hard to learn our offense and earn the respect of his teammates,” Jackson said in the reease.” This is a tough loss because everyone has seen how invested he has been in the team and his dedication to the work needed to improve his craft. We all know these are realities of the NFL, injuries occur and you have to find ways to overcome them so they don’t imprede your progress.”

Griffin suffered the injury when he was running out of bounds on third and long. However, he was tomahawked by Eagles cornerback Jalen Millis near the sideline. Still, he came back the very next play, but then he was knocked down after an incomplete pass to Brows receiver Andrew Hawkins; after this play he came up wincing.

This is a shame as RGIII signed with the Browns in May in an effort to revitalize his career. Griffin, who was drafted in 2012 by the Washington Redskins, had an outstanding rookie campaign before tearing his ACL in the playoffs against the Seattle Seahawks.

Thereafter, Griffin tried numerous times to come back; however, he was either plagued with injuries or was anemic in his performances. Thus, current Redskin quarterback Kirk Cousins occupies the job.

It’s be in interesting to see where RGIII goes from here.
