Netflix’s Nemesis Is Officially Back for Season 2

The chase isn’t over. Netflix’s hit crime thriller Nemesis is officially returning for a second season, and creators Courtney A. Kemp and Tani Marole couldn’t be more grateful for the people who made it happen.

“I feel blessed to get a Season 2,” Kemp told Tudum. “We thank the fans, it’s because of them — there’s no other reason. It’s them showing up, them talking about it, and their huge social media response.” Marole echoed that gratitude while teasing what’s ahead: “We’re going to make sure questions get answered, and even more questions are available for you to answer. Make no mistake, Season 2 is going to be bigger and better.”

Season 1 left audiences on a gut punch. Detective Isaiah Stiles (Matthew Law) and prolific thief Coltrane Wilder (Y’lan Noel) faced off on opposite sides of the law, with Stiles’s son Noah (Cedric Joe) caught in the crossfire. To protect his child, Stiles let Wilder walk away, and Wilder got the last word, taunting, “You were never gonna win!” Season 2 promises Stiles finally gets the chance to respond.

According to Kemp, the next chapter was never an afterthought. “We didn’t pitch this concept without an idea of what we would do in Season 2. It’s going to be bigger and more intense, and we’re going to complicate the conflict between these two.” Marole added that the new season will unfold in “unexpected” fashion, building on a cat-and-mouse dynamic that hooked viewers from the start.

One area both creators are especially excited to dig into is the women of Nemesis. “What’s the most gratifying is people really getting attached to and focusing on the female characters,” Kemp said. “We had a lot of people ask for more of Charlie and Ebony’s background, and I think that is a place we’d love to explore.”

New faces are coming too, though not without consequence. “We killed a lot of people in Season 1,” Marole noted, hinting that the show’s expansive family trees still have plenty of untapped territory. Kemp teased the possibility of more Stiles and Wilder relatives entering the picture: “Most African American families are large.” Whether that means new siblings, cousins, or estranged relatives remains to be seen.

Nemesis Season 2 will return to production soon. In the meantime, Season 1 is streaming now on Netflix for anyone looking to catch up, or revisit, before the next round begins.
