Halle Berry is officially saying “yes,” and she’s setting the record straight while doing it. During a lively appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Oscar-winning actress confirmed that she is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Van Hunt, putting an end to weeks of speculation and internet confusion.
“There’s some confusion going around,” Berry explained with a laugh. “That my guy, Van Hunt… I’ve been dating him now for almost six years, asked me to marry him and I said no. No! No! No, sir! Stop!”
Berry clarified that while there may not be a wedding date set yet, she absolutely did not turn down his proposal. “That is not the case,” she said. “I did not say no. We just don’t have a date. But of course I said yes, I would marry.”
