Taco Bell is getting new leadership at the top. Sean Tresvant has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Taco Bell, effective October 1, 2025.
Alongside his new role, Tresvant will also take on the position of Chief Consumer Officer at Taco Bell’s parent company, Yum! Brands, a significant step in the fast-food giant’s ongoing evolution.
This announcement is part of a broader leadership reshuffle at Yum! Brands, as Chris Turner prepares to succeed David Gibbs as CEO of the parent company. Turner, who has served as Chief Financial Officer since 2019 and expanded his portfolio to include Chief Franchise Officer in 2024, will assume his new role on October 1 following Gibbs’ retirement, marking the end of a 37-year tenure with the company.
For Tresvant, the move represents both a continuation and an elevation. Since joining Taco Bell in 2022 as Global Brand Officer, he’s been instrumental in pushing the brand further into cultural conversations, shaping bold marketing campaigns, and deepening Taco Bell’s reputation as more than just a quick-service restaurant, but a lifestyle brand with a loyal following.
The transition reflects Yum!’s focus on keeping consumer experience and brand identity at the forefront. In his new dual role, Tresvant will oversee Taco Bell globally while also helping to guide Yum!’s broader consumer strategy across its portfolio, which includes KFC, Pizza Hut, and The Habit Burger Grill.
The timing of these moves comes as Yum! Brands continues to grow its global footprint while investing heavily in digital, technology, and brand innovation.
Shares of Yum! have risen more than 10% this year, with a notable 11.3% increase over the last 12 months, underscoring investor confidence in the company’s trajectory.
Tresvant’s promotion signals not only Taco Bell’s commitment to staying culturally relevant but also Yum! Brands’ recognition of leaders who can bridge brand creativity with business growth.
