This past weekend, MACRO hosted its annual Summer House event at Nya Studios East in Hollywood, and trust me, there’s nothing like a MACRO party! It was the sun-drenched, culture-packed, star-studded kickoff to summer we didn’t know we needed.
From the moment you arrived, parasol in hand (a clutch move by the hosts, considering the sun was beaming on your neck), you knew this wasn’t your typical industry mixer. The energy was warm, the vibes immaculate, and the guest list? Stacked.

MACRO Founder & CEO Charles D. King and Chief Brand Officer Stacey Walker King pulled out all the stops to create a space where community, creativity, and culture could collide. Think local food trucks, music from a rotating lineup of DJs, and backyard-style games with a luxe twist; badminton, mini golf, and even champagne pong for the partygoers with decorum.
Every corner of the venue was a photo op, perfect to feed the Instagram feeds.
The Food for Thought panel featuring viral food critic Keith Lee, in conversation with Stacey Walker King, was insightful and refreshing. In true Keith Lee fashion, he was honest, vulnerable, and funny. He opened up about his path to food critic fame, his unwavering love for his wife, and the viral TikTok dance trend he “accidentally” created.

If you know anything about MACRO events, you know it’s an event that your favorite celebs don’t want to miss. You could casually turn to your left and see Aldis Hodge, then turn the other way and spot J. Alphonse Nicholson. Everyone was there, posted up, laughing, connecting, and cooling off with frozen drinks in hand.
The guest list was a who’s-who of talent, including Jharrel Jerome, Lil Rel Howery, David Oyelowo, Algee Smith, Gabrielle Dennis, Melvin Gregg, Heather B., Aziza Scott, Cassie Freeman, Jimmy Akingbola, and JB Smoove, just to name a few. I even bumped into my new frat brother, Bel-Air’s Adrian Holmes, who recently joined Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

MACRO’s Summer House wasn’t just a party; it’s a reminder that when you create space with intention, purpose, and Black joy, creatives will show up, show out, and remind the industry exactly who sets the tone.

If you weren’t there this year, plan ahead. MACRO Summer House is officially the event to attend.
