BET Media Group is kicking off a new docuseries that’s all about football legend Michael Vick and his next chapter as the head coach of Norfolk State University’s football team.
Set in Vick’s home state of Virginia, this series will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at his evolution from NFL quarterback to mentor, coach, and leader.
The docuseries will follow Vick as he takes on the challenge of leading the Norfolk State Spartans, showing the highs and lows of coaching at one of the most respected HBCUs.
For Vick, this role is more than just coaching; it’s about giving back and shaping the lives of young Black athletes. It’s a full-circle moment for him, as he returns to his roots and uses his platform to help others grow.
“Michael Vick’s commitment to impacting these young men’s lives and passing along the gifts that football provided him is so inspiring. I’m excited for fans to join him on his journey with Norfolk State University,” said Michael Strahan, co-founder of SMAC Entertainment, which is producing the series.
The series will dive deep into the emotional and challenging world of coaching. From locker room speeches to personal reflections on redemption and growth, Vick’s journey is about much more than football wins and losses. It’s about mentoring, second chances, and rewriting the narrative.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Michael Vick back to BET,” said Tiffany Lea Williams, Executive Vice President of Unscripted Programming and Development at BET Media Group. “His journey from NFL legend to HBCU coach is inspiring, and we’re excited to spotlight his evolution and the culture of HBCU athletics.”

“We are excited to partner with BET to share the next chapter of our football journey and our lives,” said Michael and Kijafa Vick.
