Kandi Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker continue to make major moves beyond reality TV. The Grammy-winning singer, entrepreneur, and former Real Housewives of Atlanta star recently revealed that she and Tucker, have secured a development deal with NBC.
Burruss shared the news during a recent conversation with fans, explaining that her departure from RHOA wasn’t due to any conflict with the network, but rather a personal choice to shift her focus to new opportunities.
“It was my choice to leave the show. They didn’t do me dirty. They didn’t do me wrong. Matter of fact, I have a great relationship with NBCU,” Burruss explained.
While she’s stepping away from holding a peach, she’s still working behind the scenes as a producer.

The power couple’s latest venture includes developing a new television show for NBC. Though Burruss didn’t share specific details about the project, she made it clear that she and Tucker won’t be starring in it but are instead working as executive producers.
“We have a deal with the network to produce shows right now. We’re developing a show for the network—not that we’re on it, but that we are casting with other people on it.”
This deal is the latest in a long line of successful business ventures for Burruss and Tucker. The duo has already made a name for themselves in television production, music, Broadway, and hospitality.
Their production company, Tucker Productions, has been responsible for projects like The Pass and The Piano Lesson starring Samuel L. Jackson and John David Washington.
Burruss and Tucker also produced the Broadway revival of Othello—starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal—which has made history by setting the record for the highest-grossing week for a play in Broadway history.
Despite her departure from RHOA, Burruss made it clear that she holds no hard feelings toward NBC or Bravo, emphasizing that her experience in reality TV helped elevate her career.
“They definitely have done a lot for my career. So I’m never going to be shady or any of that.”
