The F1 movie starring Damson Idris and Brad Pitt has finally dropped its first teaser. The 30-second clip gives fans a glimpse into the fast-paced world of Formula 1 racing.

The film, produced in collaboration with Apple Studios and Formula 1, is set to bring an interesting level of realism to racing films, with actual F1-style race cars hitting the track in live-action sequences.

The teaser, which was released on F1’s official social media channels, was also featured during the pre-game coverage of Super Bowl LVIII.

The film follows Sonny Hayes, played by Pitt, a former Formula 1 driver who steps out of retirement for one last shot at glory and redemption. He joins APX GP, a fictional F1 team, and takes rising young driver Joshua Pierce, portrayed by Idris, under his wing. Together, they navigate the intense world of elite motorsport, where speed, ambition, and rivalries collide.

With Idris stepping into the role of a rookie prodigy and Pitt as the seasoned veteran, the film is expected to blend high-octane action with deep emotional storytelling, drawing inspiration from real-life F1 legends. With the budget and star power, F1 is setting the stage for what could be one of the most immersive sports dramas ever made.

Unlike traditional racing films that rely heavily on CGI and green screens, this F1 movie raises the bar by featuring actual high-speed racing sequences.

To prepare for the role, Pitt trained in a specially modified Formula 2 car, developed with the help of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team. The vehicle was designed to simulate the power and aerodynamics of an F1 car, allowing for realistic racing action on authentic Grand Prix circuits.

The film has also been filming during real F1 race weekends, with Pitt and Idris seen on track at Silverstone, Las Vegas, and other major F1 venues. This approach has thrilled motorsport fans, as it marks one of the most ambitious attempts to capture the true essence of Formula 1 on the big screen.

Seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton is not just lending his expertise—he’s also serving as a producer and consultant through his production company, Dawn Apollo Films.

Hamilton has been deeply involved in ensuring the film remains authentic.

The F1 movie is set for release on June 25, 2025, in international markets, followed by a June 27 release in North America.
