As President Donald Trump’s administration intensifies its efforts to dismantle DEI programs, Delta Air Lines has made it clear: it will not back down from its commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Amid a wave of corporate rollbacks in response to Trump’s executive order, which aims to eliminate DEI initiatives from federal agencies, corporations, and nonprofits, Delta, Atlanta’s largest employer, has doubled down on its stance.

“We are steadfast in our commitments because we think that they are actually critical to our business,” said Peter Carter, Chief External Affairs Officer at Delta Air Lines during the company’s fourth-quarter earnings call last month, Fox News reports.

He emphasized that DEI is not merely about optics, but about talent development and business success.

“Sustainability is about being more efficient in our operations, and really, DE&I is about talent— and that’s been our focus,” Carter added.

As Trump aggressively moves to terminate federal DEI programs, some of the biggest corporations in America are also shifting gears.

Companies like Target, Walmart, Amazon, and McDonald’s have either scaled back or completely phased out certain DEI initiatives.

However, Delta has joined a select group of companies, including Costco, that remain unwavering in their dedication to diversity initiatives.
