For Complex’s December 2024 cover story, rap legends Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg reunited to discuss their newest collaboration, Missionary,
Snoop’s latest album was produced entirely by Dre. This is their first full-length project together since the iconic Doggystyle in 1993. While reflecting on the album’s creation and legacy, Snoop also shared a lighter moment: his dream “blunt rotation.”
Snoop has become as synonymous with smoking and is known worldwide for his love of cannabis and laid-back persona. Naturally, Complex’s Jillian Hardeman-Webb posed the perfect question during the interview: “Who’s in your dream blunt rotation? Dead or alive.”
“I really want to smoke with and do a record with Sade,” Snoop said. “I think we would have a nice time smoking and then going right into a session that Dr. Dre produced.”
For those who know Sade — the iconic British-Nigerian singer revered for her soulful, smooth vocals — the pairing might seem unexpected. Combining Sade’s ethereal sound with Dre’s production and Snoop’s own laid-back delivery would make for a smooth and exciting collaboration.
Pressed for more names, Snoop added two legendary figures outside of music: Michael Jordan and Muhammad Ali.
“Michael Jordan,” Snoop said, name-dropping the six-time NBA champion.
When asked why Michael Jackson didn’t make the cut, Snoop said, “I smoked next to Michael Jackson.”
A statement only someone like Snoop Dogg could deliver and a humble brag.
