It has been a big December for Atlanta Falcons rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr.
After stepping into the starting role and delivering a 34–7 victory over the New York Giants, Penix had another major life milestone to celebrate: his engagement to longtime girlfriend Olivia Carter.
The couple announced the news on Saturday with a heartwarming Instagram post. The video reveals an intimate setting featuring a glowing fire pit, red flowers, candles, and marquee letters spelling out “MARRY ME.”
“I will love you forever,” Penix captioned the post. “I can’t wait to do life with you.”
The Falcons’ official social media account joined fans in celebrating the couple, posting a congratulatory message and wishing them well.
Penix’s rise on the Falcons has been one of the season’s most exciting storylines. Taking over for veteran Kirk Cousins, the former University of Washington quarterback has shown out on the field solidifying his case as Atlanta’s potential franchise quarterback.
