PUMA Launches a Divine Nine Collection Honoring Six Black Greek-Letter Organizations

PUMA has released a Divine Nine collection that reimagines its classic silhouettes in the colors, graphics, and letters of six historically Black Greek-letter organizations. The collection, which the brand presents under the line Step Into Legacy, is live on PUMA’s website.

The initial release covers Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Each organization has its own page on the PUMA site.

What Is in the Collection

The designs span PUMA Suede sneakers, Leadcat 2.0 slides, relaxed pullover hoodies, T7 track jackets, and T-shirts. PUMA describes the line as “classic PUMA silhouettes” that are “reimagined in organization-specific colors, graphics, and letters.”

Pricing on the Zeta Phi Beta page gives a sense of the range. The Leadcat 2.0 slides are listed at $40, the relaxed tee at $45, and the relaxed hoodie at $80.

The brand frames the Divine Nine as organizations recognized for leadership, scholarship, service, and community. For many members, that identity does not end with graduation, and homecoming is when the letters come out in force.

Who Is Not in the First Drop

Three of the nine National Pan-Hellenic Council organizations are not part of the initial release: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. It is unclear whether they will be added later, and PUMA’s site invites shoppers to sign up for “exclusive access to future drops.”

For now, members of the six featured organizations can shop the collection directly through PUMA.
