Rotimi, Tami Roman and Lance Gross attend Duffy’s Hope Annual Celebrity Basketball Game

Yesterday, was Duffy’s Hope 14th Annual Celebrity Basketball Game held in the Bob Carpenter Center of the University of Delaware’s Campus. The event was filled with spectators who were eager to see their favorite celebrities battle it out on the court. These celebrities included Rotimi (Actor-Power), Tami Roman (Actress-Basketball Wives LA), Jazz Anderson (Recording Artist), Lance Gross (Actor), PNB Rock (Recording Artists), LeToya Luckett (Singer), Tamera Young (WNBA Player), Wesley Jonathan (Actor), Mo’ne Davis (Teen Sports Star), Kamil McFadden (Actor), Quincy “Q Deezy” Harris (Media Personality) and Tammy Brawner (Harlem Globetrotter).

Earlier in the day, leading up to the game, Duffy’s Hope partnered with the Delaware Prevention Coalition (DPC) to host its 8th Annual Teen Summit. The summit is an opportunity for teens ages 13-18 years old and their families (parents/guardians) to be exposed to current issues facing today’s teens. Teens engaged in an interactive, open dialogue workshops facilitated by their peers on topics of interest such as underage drinking and prescription durg abuse, dating and relationships, and financial issues. This year’s summit keynote speaker was LeToya Luckett.

Duffy’s Hope, founded in 1998 by Allen “Duffy” Samuels, is a service provider for at-risk and hard to reach teens ages 12-17 years old and has changed the lives of over 4,500 youth since inceptions. For 18 years Duffy’s Hope has been a staple in the Delaware community, providing alternative resources for the advancement of the state’s youth. Their annual celebrity sports game has become the culminating event of their program; with its revenue supporting the yearly budget for Duffy’s Hope prevention programming and its youth participants.
