Billy Porter, Larenz Tate and More Join (RED) to Fight AIDS

Since it was first discovered in the 1980s, the world has seen incredible progress made in the fight to end AIDS. According to UNAIDS, AIDS-related deaths have been cut in over half since their peak in 2004 and over 23 million living with HIV now have access to life-saving treatment worldwide. While progress has been made, AIDS is still a crisis. Out of the 38 million living with HIV globally, 26 million reside in sub-Saharan Africa alone and according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2017, Blacks/African Americans accounted for 43% of the 38,739 new HIV diagnoses in the United States and dependent areas.73% of adult and adolescent Blacks/African Americans who received an HIV diagnosis were men.

In order to engage with businesses and people in the fight against AIDS and support Global Fund programs and grants on the ground in sub-Saharan Africa, (RED) was created. Ahead of World AIDS Day on December 1st, (RED) has announced a new partnership with Cameo to fight AIDS in support of their fifth (RED) Shopathon campaign.

If you have never used Cameo before, here’s how it works! A (RED) icon is currently live on the Cameo homepage and throughout the campaign, it directs you to a landing page where you can find a list of talent participating in the (RED) activation, as well as the donation amount charged by each athlete, musician, media personality or influencer. Fees are set by the talent and range from $5 to $2,500.
