New York Jets New Partnerships Gives Fans a Reason to Celebrate

Drafting Sam Darnold looked to be the biggest news for the New York Jets this summer, until now. Jets fans that double as Jadakiss fans, Justin Bieber fans, and even Kanye West fans, should get ready for a jam-packed season.  The New York Jets recently announced a new partnership with Def Jam Recordings and Marvel Entertainment on August 21st. The New York Jets are looking to improve their in-game fan experience to align with the personality of their younger up-and-coming roster.  This new partnership will produce exclusive never before seen content for fans during their home games at MetLife Stadium along with a new video series with Jets’ players working with numerous Def Jam artist.

When the Philadelphia Eagles walked out to Meek Mill for Super Bowl 52 even Patriots fans knew that in that moment the game was over and won. They were more than motivated, they were juiced! Charged up by one of Philadelphia’s finest, there was no way Tom Brady and Patriots had a chance to win. Imagine the Jets running out to a new theme song featuring 2 Chainz, Nas, or Teyana Taylor. That’s what’s in store for all Jets fans with their new partnership with Def Jam Recordings. They are in the process of creating a video series featuring Jets players and Def Jam artist. The first episode will have safeties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye visiting Jadakiss’ studio in Yonkers, New York.

Neil Glat, the New York Jets President, is excited and ready to work with Def Jam, “Through our partnership with Def Jam Recordings, we are looking to amplify our in game experience and provide fans with entertaining content from their truly talented artists”. There is nothing better than two New York businesses joining forces to prove better entertainment for their fans. “Collaborating with another iconic New York brand like the New York Jets to create content and original in-game music has a natural synergy for our brand and our audience, and is a great way for Def Jam to bring fans of the Jets and hip-hop together and broaden the reach for our artists,” says Def Jam EVP of Marketing & Commerce Scott Greer.

The Jets deal with Marvel Entertainment includes a “Green Out” for the Jets home game against the Minnesota Vikings on October 21st, with an Incredible Hulk-themed bobblehead and a 16 page Hulk vs. Thor comic book written by Comics contributor Fabian Nicieza, who is, of course, a Jets Fan and New Jersey native. Marvel plans to produce an 8-page digital comic to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Jets’ Super Bowl victory over the Colts.

It seems like the New York Jets organization locked down key ideas to bring in more fans. The plan is to bring in more fans thus not only bringing in more revenue, but motivation for players to play with the possibility of more sold-out crowds. Only time will tell if better music can give the Jets the same edge it gave the Eagles.
