Jeff Green Becomes Free Agent

Forward Jeff Green has cleared waivers and is now a free agent, according to NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski.

Green was released from the Utah Jazz this week after averaging 7.8 points and 2.7 rebounds.

Drafted in 2007 fifth overall by the Boston Celtics, Green had open-heart surgery to repair an aortic root aneurysm in 2012.

Green in his heyday was a solid player. He was a solid midrange shooter, could hit an open 3 and took players off the dribble.

His best year was with the Boston Celtics, when he averaged 17.6 points and 4.6 rebounds in the 2014-2015 season.

Green, 33, can still be a contributor in 15 to 20 minutes of play. With his effort on defense and the ability to knock down open shots, it shouldn’t be long before a team picks him up for the remainder of the 2019-2020 season.
