Denzel Washington Plays a Cool, Calm, and Collected Defense Attorney in “Roman J. Israel, Esq&

We can really see no end in sight for the Oscar Winning Actor, Denzel Washington. He is back on the big screen playing Roman J. Israel, an introverted defense attorney who is “tired of doing the impossible for the ungrateful” as he says in the film.

Roman J. Israel is a dramatic thriller set in the underbelly of the overburdened Los Angeles criminal court system. Denzel Washington stars as a driven, idealistic defense attorney whose life is upended when a turbulent series of events challenge the activism that has defined his career. Colin Farrell co-stars as the ambitious, monied lawyer who recruits Roman to his firm.

The film was directed by Dan Gilroy, who you may remember directed the crime thriller Nightcrawler. Along with the superstars of the film, one of our favorite actors, DeRon Horton from Dear White People, will also be in the film. This is another film brought to us by Macro.
