Chicago Cub Slugger, Kyle Schwarber Still Not Cleared To Play In The Field

A much needed bat for the Chicago Cubs, Kyle Schwarber, will not be participating in the World Series full-time as of yet.

According to ESPN, while doctors have cleared him to bat, those same medical professionals have not cleared him to fulfill his field duties. He will continue to pinch hit, Chicago Cubs team president Theo Epstein confirmed today.

Although Epstein and Schwarber tried to state their case, the team, understandably, is looking at Schwarber’s long term career.

Still, Schwarber said he isn’t fazed.

“There’s no being sad about it,” Schwarber said to ESPN. “I know my role, now, and I’m going to embrace it.”

Schwarber hit 3-for-7 with two walks and two ribbies (RBIs) in game 2 of the World Series.

With the series tied 1-1, game 3 is set for tomorrow night at Wrigley Field.
