Chance The Rapper Puts His Money Where His Mouth Is

Chance The Rapper seems like he is everywhere nowadays, especially after sweeping the grammy’s a couple weeks ago. Now, the Chicago native is sweeping the streets of his own city and he’s starting with education. Announced today, he will be donating $1 Million to the Chicago Public Schools Foundation “for arts and enrichment programming.”

This comes after the Acid Rap Rapper, met with the state department to discuss funding education in Chicago. After meeting with the Governor of Illinois, Bruce Rauner, Chance the Rapper was unhappy. He stated that he felt “a little bit flustered” and was disappointed he got “a lot of vague answers” during the meeting. But that didn’t stop him from advocating for the children of his city. And if you’re wondering where he got all the money, he said the $1 Million was generated by his spring tour ticket sales and a collaborative effort with concert promoters including Live Nation, AEG and Ticketmaster.

We salute Chance The Rapper and wish others would step up to the plate like he has!
