Broncos Will Pursue a Quarterback Come Free Agency

The Denver Broncos are in need of a veteran quarterback.

Whether or not this means the organization will pursue Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo remains to be seen.

According to ESPN.com, Broncos General Manager John Elway was asked at the combine if the franchise will, in fact, go after a veteran quarterback, though.

“I’ll say we’re going to look at all the options—once they become available, w’re going to look at all the options,” Elway said. “ If it’s best for the Denver Broncos, if it’s best for this team, because it’s not only about winning next year but also what it does for the future too. All those things will come in the discussion. Once we get to that point, we know where we are, we’ll kick the lines and do our homework on everything and make the best decision for the Broncos.”

Elway also said, however, the franchise is looking for a quarterback that can take the reins for the next few years, but that current quarterbacks Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch will compete for a starting job  come training camp time.

Romo is a 36-year-old quarterback who will turn 37 in April, but, more importantly, he has been injury prone over the last several years.

Free Agency begins March. 9.
