Bills Add Bush

Reggie Bush will compete for a job in a Buffalo Bill uniform.

According to Mike Rodak of ESPN, the Bills added Bush earlier this afternoon, which will allow him to compete against Mike Gillislee and Jonathan Williams for the backup role behind LeSean McCoy.

“It’s good to be back to football,” Bush said to ESPN today. “I felt like the opportunity here was special for me and the team, for the coaching staff and for the fans as well.”

Bush has had a weird career.

As a coveted running back at USC, he was expected to do a lot in the NFL. With the New Orleans Saints as an all-purpose back, he was used in every offensive facet, utilizing his speed and cutting ability, but certainly, the Saints respected his body type. However, injuries still held him back. Two out of five seasons ended in Bush playing in 10 games or under.

He then resurrects his career in Miami, where in 31 games, he amasses 2,072 yards and 12 touchdowns. In Detroit, he plays in 23 games, garnering 1,303 yards and six total touchdowns. His stint in San Francisco is not even worth mentioning.

And let’s not forget the whole Kim K ordeal.

The bottom line for Bush’s career: up and down.
