The ton is getting some exciting new arrivals! As Bridgerton Season 5 continues production in London, the hit Netflix series is expanding its cast, officially bringing actors Tega Alexander, Jacqueline Boatswain, and Gemma Knight Jones to Mayfair.

Set to center around the much-anticipated queer romance between Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) and Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza), the upcoming season is bringing in fresh faces to shake up the social scene.

Alexander is stepping into the Regency era as Christopher Anderson, the son of Lord Marcus Anderson. For fans keeping track of the Bridgerton family tree, Christopher’s father was notably introduced as a former fling of the Bridgerton matriarch, Violet.

Netflix’s official character description paints Christopher as a “Regency-era Casanova who could give the Bridgerton bachelors a run for their money.” However, there is much more to Mayfair’s newest catch than just his undeniable charm.

The streaming giant teases that beneath his confident, cheeky facade lies a hidden “current of self-doubt that threatens to unravel him.” Whether he will be an ally, a romantic rival, or a chaotic new presence in society remains to be seen, but he is certainly going to make his mark on the ton.

Joining him is Boatswain, who has been cast as Helen Stirling, the vivacious mother of Michaela. Described as the very source of her daughter’s bold spirit, Helen is a mama who seeks to guide and occasionally push Michaela through London’s social season with an equal mix of tough love and vivaciousness. Boatswain is no stranger to the screen, with notable roles in Carnival Row and Hulu’s Red Eye.

Rounding out the new trio is Jones, taking on the role of Lady Elizabeth Ashworth. Lady Elizabeth is an old friend and confidante to Michaela, serving as her guide to London. Beneath her playful charm, she is a grounded realist who is wise to the unspoken rules of high society. Viewers might recognize Knight Jones from her work in the feature film MOBLAND.

We look forward to the upcoming season of Bridgeton.
