Dr. Dre is Officially a Billionaire, Joining Beyoncé on Forbes’ 2026 List

Dr. Dre has officially secured his spot in the three-comma club. According to Forbes’ newly released 2026 World’s Billionaires list, the legendary hip-hop producer and entrepreneur is now worth an estimated $1 billion.

This milestone feels like a full-circle, manifested moment for the West Coast icon. Back in 2014, after he and Jimmy Iovine sold their highly successful Beats by Dre business to Apple for a staggering $3 billion, Dre famously went on camera to declare himself hip-hop’s first billionaire, telling the publication, “They need to update the Forbes list, sh-t just changed.”

While that historic deal certainly lined his pockets, he walked away with roughly $500 million, leaving him just shy of the official billionaire mark at the time.

Now, 12 years later, his long-game strategy has paid off. Through a combination of lucrative business ventures, smart real estate investments, and the $250 million sale of a portion of his music catalog in 2023, Forbes is finally co-signing what Dre claimed all along.

Dre is now one of only six musicians to make the Forbes billionaire cut, joining the ranks of Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Bruce Springsteen. And he isn’t the only music royalty making headlines this year.

Beyoncé has also made her highly anticipated debut on the 2026 list. Like Dre, Queen Bey reached the $1 billion milestone, an achievement driven by her massive music sales, record-breaking global tours, art collection, and various business ventures.

In a fun twist of fate, both Dre and Beyoncé are currently tied as the 3,332nd richest people on the planet, sharing the placement with Rihanna and others.
