This week, Miami legend and cultural icon Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell found himself at the center of a viral political firestorm after an “unearthed” audio clip began circulating on X (formerly Twitter), allegedly linking him to controversial activities at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
The drama began when political commentator Ed Krassenstein posted a snippet claiming Luke was describing a scene filled with underage women and illicit activity at the Florida resort. The post quickly became a lightning rod for those calling for political abandonment of Trump.
However, Uncle Luke hit back with a multi-point rebuttal that serves as a masterclass in protecting one’s brand from political weaponization.

In a post to his official X account, he dismantled the viral claim point by point. Most notably, he asserted that the voice in the specific snippet being circulated as a “smoking gun” was not his.
“First of all, that’s NOT my voice on this tweet,” Campbell stated. He went on to clarify his political stance to dispel any rumors of hidden agendas, noting, “Second, I voted for Kamala Harris.”
Luke has never denied visiting Mar-a-Lago; in fact, he’s been transparent about it for years. He clarified that the visit occurred many years ago, long before Trump’s presidency, when the real estate mogul was still a Democrat.
According to Luke, the high-profile visit took place years ago alongside entertainment heavyweights Mike Tyson and Eddie Murphy. While he confirmed he was given a formal tour of the grounds, his firsthand account of the atmosphere is different than viral rumors currently flooding social media.

Specifically, he stated that he saw absolutely no illegal substances during his time at the estate and explicitly denied the presence of any underage women.
Campbell also noted that he left the gathering early to attend a separate engagement. “I’m not going to lie on anyone for political purposes,” Luke added. “That’s not how I move.”
In a video follow-up, Luke expressed his frustration with the media’s attempt to frame an old conversation as “breaking news.” He pointed out that he has discussed this visit on major platforms like CNN and with Joy Reid years ago.
The viral audio, he suggests, is a calculated attempt to make a 2016-era conversation feel like a fresh, “Xenon Radio” exclusive from 2026. “To make it seem like I just had a brand new conversation… fuck no,” Luke said.
