Rep. Jasmine Crockett Tears Into AG Pam Bondi Over Journalist Arrests and Trump’s Epstein Ties

In a fiery oversight hearing on Capitol Hill, Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) wasted no time dismantling Attorney General Pam Bondi’s leadership of the Department of Justice. The hearing, originally convened to discuss the DOJ’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files and resource allocation, quickly turned into a viral moment as Crockett accused the Attorney General of weaponizing the justice system against the press while ignoring high-profile predators.

Crockett began her line of questioning by attacking the DOJ’s recent track record, specifically the controversial arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort. She argued that the Department’s priorities were dangerously skewed, stating, “You’re spending more taxpayer resources arresting journalists than you are prosecuting pedophiles and creeps.”

The Congresswoman highlighted a string of recent legal failures for Bondi’s DOJ, saying that judges and grand juries have repeatedly rejected the administration’s attempts to prosecute political figures and media personalities.

“Y’all actually had a judge that rejected y’all for trying to arrest Don Lemon before, just like the grand jury rejected y’all as it relates to Senator Kelly, just like a grand jury rejected y’all as it relates to Senator Slotkin,” Crockett said, listing the failed cases. She also noted that cases against New York Attorney General Letitia James and former FBI Director James Comey had been dismissed.

“I completely don’t get how it is that you’re sitting at the top of DOJ because you don’t seem to be good at your job,” Crockett told Bondi directly.

The hearing took a darker turn when Crockett pivoted to the reason many were tuning in: the unsealed Epstein files. Crockett accused the AG of “protecting pedophiles and creeps” and read directly from documents that she claimed linked President Donald Trump to the disgraced financier’s sex trafficking ring.

“I believe that facts matter. So let’s talk about the facts,” Crockett said, laying out a series of damning statistics from the files. “Fact number one: Donald Trump is one of the most named people… At least 5,000 files contain more than 38,000 references to Trump, his wife, or Mar-a-Lago.”

Crockett went on to detail specific allegations found in FBI investigator notes, including instances where Ghislaine Maxwell allegedly presented young girls to Trump. She cited one file describing an interaction where the President “spent more than 20 minutes apparently flirting” with a girl, and another instance where Epstein brought a victim to Mar-a-Lago, leading Trump to allegedly brag, “This is a good one.”

Crockett concluded her time with a searing assessment of the company the President keeps. “Now, I’m not saying that the president is a pedophile,” Crockett stated, “but there is a lot of evidence in these files that suggests that he’s very close friends with a lot of men who are pedophiles.”
