Maryland Governor Wes Moore isn’t losing any sleep over being left off the guest list for President Trump’s upcoming gathering at the White House. In fact, his response to the public snub was brief, unbothered, and straight to the point: “Nah, I’m good.”

The friction began earlier this week when President Trump took to Truth Social to clarify who made the cut for the National Governors Association (NGA) meeting. While the President confirmed that invitations were sent to nearly every governor, including Democrats he referred to as “SLOB” (JB Pritzker) and “Newscum” (Gavin Newsom), he explicitly excluded two state leaders he deemed “not worthy.”

One of those excluded was Moore. In his post, Trump labeled the Maryland Governor “foul mouthed” and attacked his record, claiming Moore “fraudulently stated that he received Military medals” and is “doing a terrible job on the rebuilding of the Francis Scott Key Bridge.”

Speaking to CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell, Moore addressed the exclusion and the personal attacks for the first time.

“I can’t speak to the president’s heart. I can speak to his actions,” Moore said. “And I do want to be clear to the president respectfully, you do not determine my worthiness. God determines my worthiness. The people of Maryland determine my worthiness. They are who I answer to. Not him.”

Moore, who serves as the Vice Chair of the NGA, emphasized that while he is willing to collaborate with the administration on policy, he refuses to be subservient. “I have been very clear with the people of my state that I will work with anyone. But I will bow down to no one. And I think the president has a problem with that.”

When asked if he would attend the meeting if the situation changed, Moore made it clear he has no interest in participating in what he views as a toxic environment.

“If the point of the meeting is to turn it into name calling or to follow what he did in this most recent tweet, which is full of lies and it’s ignorant and it’s unhinged… then my answer to the president is very clear. No, I’m good,” Moore stated.

He doubled down on that sentiment on social media, posting a simple message on X: “Nah, I’m good.”
