Ciara and Russell Wilson Bring the Heat (and the Love) to ‘Hot Ones Versus’
Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson and Grammy winner Ciara are used to taking home trophies, but their latest competition required a different kind of endurance. The power couple faced off in a special episode of Hot Ones Versus, where the rules were simple: tell the truth to difficult questions or suffer the wrath of the Wings of Death.
From the jump, the competitive spirit was alive and well, with Russell declaring, “This trophy’s going home with me”. However, as the Scoville levels rose, so did the stakes.
The game kicked off with a question about their “wildest party story that we hope our kids never hear.” While Russell seemed ready to spill the details, asking if she wanted him to “describe” exactly what they did, Ciara quickly shut it down. She opted for a diplomatic answer, describing a “little rendezvous in Italy” in a “very prominent city,” leaving the rest to the imagination.
Things got spicy during the “Quickies” round. When asked to name the “worst coach you’ve played for,” Russell didn’t hesitate; he grabbed a wing immediately, choosing to burn his mouth rather than burn a bridge.
He was more open when asked to rank gridiron legends Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Peyton Manning, and himself. Russell humbly placed himself third, putting Tom Brady at number one and Patrick Mahomes at number two, joking to Peyton Manning, “Sorry, Pete”.
The “Quickies” round featured some of the most dangerous questions of the night. Russell asked Ciara to reveal her favorite curse word, to which she replied, “Shit”. But Ciara fired back with a trap that could have landed Russell in the doghouse, asking, “Which ring is more important to you? Your Super Bowl ring or your wedding ring?”
Realizing there was no safe answer, Russell seemingly chose to suffer through the spice rather than pick a side.
The challenge took a physical turn when Russell was tasked with a reflex test to catch falling sticks. Despite the “lightning-fast reflexes” required for an NFL quarterback, the heat might have thrown him off his game; he missed the catch and was forced to eat another death wing.
The episode concluded with a portrait challenge where the couple had to draw each other. Russell’s artistic interpretation of his wife? A stick figure titled “Big Booty CC,” noting that “that booty keep getting bigger the more kids we have.”
In the end, despite his early confidence, Russell ended up eating more wings, handing the victory to Ciara. “It’s the only trophy I’ve won this year so far,” Russell joked while suffering through the heat.
