Stephen Graham has officially added Golden Globe winner to his already impressive résumé. On Sunday night, the British actor took home the award for Best Male Actor – Television – Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Motion Picture for his powerful performance in Adolescence.
Graham beat out a stacked category that included Jacob Elordi (The Narrow Road to the Deep North), Paul Giamatti (Black Mirror), Charlie Hunnam (Monster: The Ed Gein Story), Jude Law (Black Rabbit), and Matthew Rhys (The Beast in Me).
In Adolescence, Graham plays a working-class father grappling with the unraveling of his family and the haunting memories of his own youth. The role demanded a delicate balance of rage, regret, and tenderness, something the Boiling Point and Line of Duty star delivered with masterful nuance.
The project has been widely praised for its grounded storytelling and emotional realism, with Graham’s performance often described as the “soul” of the series.
At just 15 years old, Owen Cooper became the youngest-ever winner of the Golden Globes Best Supporting Actor (television) category. Graham and Cooper’s Golden Globe wins add to a growing list of accolades for the series.
At the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards, Adolescence was a standout winner, taking home eight Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Outstanding Lead Actor (Graham), Outstanding Supporting Actor (Owen Cooper), Outstanding Supporting Actress (Erin Doherty), and awards for writing and directing.
