Kelly Rowland and Clifford “Method Man” Smith are bringing chemistry, charm, and competitive chaos to the screen in Relationship Goals, a new romantic comedy that asks: what happens when your ex becomes your biggest obstacle… and possibly your biggest “what if” all over again?
Directed by Linda Mendoza and inspired by the New York Times bestselling book by Michael Todd, the film follows Leah Caldwell (Rowland), a brilliant TV producer on the verge of becoming the first woman to lead New York’s number-one morning show.
It’s the moment she’s worked for her entire career, until life complicates the plan most unexpectedly. The network brings in another candidate to compete for the role: her ex, Jarrett Roy (Method Man), who claims he’s a changed man guided by transformation, growth, and the lessons from the very book inspiring the film’s themes.

Leah isn’t convinced.
What unfolds is a mix of ambition and unresolved tension as workplace rivalry collides with emotional history. Jarrett wants redemption, professionally and personally, while Leah is laser-focused on breaking glass ceilings, not revisiting old wounds.
But chemistry doesn’t clock out just because the relationship did. As the two pitch ideas, clash creatively, and challenge one another’s views on love, both discover that healing and accountability may matter just as much as success.
The story widens beyond the central love battle, too. As Leah’s close-knit circle of friends begin reading the same life-altering book, they each confront their own journeys in dating, purpose, and emotional growth. The film leans into humor, vulnerability, and real-life questions about intention, maturity, and what it truly means to “aim” for love.
Relationship Goals is produced by DeVon Franklin with a cast that includes Robin Thede, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Annie Gonzalez, Dennis Haysbert, and Matt Walsh.
Relationship Goals hits Prime Video on February 4th. Check out the trailer below.
