The verdict is in — Reasonable Doubt is officially returning.

Ahead of its Season 3 finale, Hulu and Onyx Collective have renewed the hit legal drama for a fourth season, confirming that high-powered defense attorney Jax Stewart will continue to bring her sharp, complicated brilliance back to the courtroom.

The announcement comes just before the Season 3 finale airs on November 13, a finale fans have been anxiously waiting for as multiple storylines reach boiling points.

KYLE BARY - Reasonable Doubt

This season, Jax (played by Emayatzy Corinealdi) has been balancing one of her most intense cases yet: defending Ozzie Edwards, played by Kyle Bary, in a murder trial that has pushed both her personal and professional life to new limits.

And while Jax is fighting for her client, she’s also navigating two major wild cards: newcomer Bill Sterling (Joseph Sikora), whose intentions remain ambiguous, and the reemergence of her estranged sister Chelsea, played by Lori Harvey, who brings a new layer of emotional conflict.

Yet, as Reasonable Doubt fans know, uncertainty is exactly where Jax thrives.

The series was created and written by Raamla Mohamed, who also serves as executive producer. She is joined by executive producers Kerry Washington and Pilar Savone under Simpson Street, alongside Larry Wilmore, Anton Cropper, and Lena Cordina.

Reasonable Doubt has carved out a distinct lane in the legal drama genre, one that leans into nuance rather than caricature. Jax is powerful, brilliant, flawed, layered, and human. The show refuses to water down complexity, especially around Black womanhood, success, and the price of carrying everyone’s expectations.

The audience has shown up for it, not simply for the cases, but for the emotional tension, the relationships, and the moral gray areas where real life tends to exist.

With Season 4 now confirmed, fans can look forward to even deeper character exploration and new cases that push Jax to her limits, in and out of the courtroom.

New episodes of Reasonable Doubt release on Thursdays on Hulu and Disney+.
