Miguel is stepping back into the spotlight with his first full-length album in eight years. The singer-songwriter announced that his new project, Caos, will arrive on October 23, which is also his 40th birthday.

In the years since his last LP, he’s released the EPs Te Lo Dije and Art Dealer Chic 4, along with a handful of singles. Of those tracks, only Always Time made the cut for Caos, which will feature 12 songs in total.

In a statement, Miguel described Caos as the culmination of his personal and artistic evolution.

“To rebuild, I had to destroy myself. That is the core confrontation of Caos,” he said. “Through my personal evolution, I learned that transformation is violent. Caos is the sonic iteration of me bending that violence into something universally felt.”

The album title itself hints at Miguel’s exploration of disorder as a necessary force for growth, an idea he’s been teasing for years through live performances and interviews. At one point, he had even suggested calling the project Viscera, a title that spoke to the same themes of depth, grit, and emotional upheaval.

Miguel has stayed relatively quiet on the exact tracklist details. For longtime listeners, the release date feels symbolic. Dropping an album on his 40th birthday is more than a milestone; it’s Miguel declaring this new chapter with purpose.
