Kai Cenat just cemented himself in livestreaming history. The 23-year-old Twitch star has become the first creator ever to cross 1 million active subscribers on the platform, a milestone that has eluded even the biggest names in gaming and entertainment.

The moment happened live on Sunday, September 28, during the tail end of Cenat’s nearly month-long subathon. Surrounded by friends and visibly overwhelmed, he couldn’t hold back his emotions as the counter ticked into seven digits.

“I started off the year not even knowing what the f*** I’m about to do after Mafiathon 2,” Cenat admitted, reflecting on how uncertain 2025 felt in the beginning. “I could have quit at any time. I could have stopped. I could have took a break. I could have stopped, but something told me to keep going… If I didn’t have Jesus in my life, none of this would be possible… Don’t ever worry about what anybody’s got to say about you. You can do anything that you want to.”

The streamer later doubled down on social media, sharing his gratitude in all caps on X (formerly Twitter):
“STARTING 2025 I WAS A LITTLE LOST AND DIDN’T KNOW HOW IT WAS GONNA GO BUT FAST FORWARD AND NOW IM HERE 1,000,000 SUBS THANK YOU GOD ❤️ GOAL IS OFFICIALLY COMPLETE.”

The post instantly blew up, racking up tens of thousands of likes and over 20,000 reshares. Fans celebrated the achievement with memes, fire emojis, and clips of the exact moment the milestone hit. One supporter summed it up: “That’s the grind paying off. Uncertainty, hustle, prayer, and then domination.”

Even Twitch itself joined in, congratulating its record-breaking star with a post that read: “Chat, he did it. 1 million subs in 27 days. Congrats @KaiCenat. Legendary.”

Congratulations, Kai!
