This past weekend, one of Atlanta’s own received an honor cementing his legacy. On Saturday, September 28, multi-platinum artist and entrepreneur K Camp was recognized by the Atlanta City Council with an official proclamation declaring the date “K Camp Day” in Atlanta.

The honor arrived on the heels of a sold-out finale for his KISS 6 Tour at home in Atlanta. Councilman Byron Amos took the stage during the show to present the proclamation, acknowledging K Camp, born Kristopher Campbell, for his decade-plus contributions to Atlanta’s sound and culture, as well as his charitable work through his CAMPSGIVING foundation.

“Kristopher Campbell, professionally known as K Camp, an Atlanta-raised, platinum-selling artist whose catalog and collaborations have helped define the city’s sound over the past decade, elevating emerging talent and contributing to Atlanta’s global representation,” Amos said in his remarks.

With this proclamation, K Camp joins a short list of Atlanta heavyweights who have been officially recognized by the city, including Gucci Mane, Lil Baby, Big Boi, and the late Rich Homie Quan.

The celebratory energy of the evening went beyond the proclamation. The show featured surprise appearances from fellow Atlanta icons YFN Lucci, Jacquees, T.I., and D.C. Young Fly.

Lucci hit the crowd with fan favorites like Heartless, while Jacquees joined K Camp for a soulful performance of KISS 6 standout Come Back Home.

The finale marked the close of K Camp’s 27-city KISS 6 Tour, which stretched across six weeks and included stops in Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Nashville.
